What is Divergent Garage?

-The first question of many, we gather.

Divergent Garage is the evolution of Scott's life and automotive journey. Scott grew up in Montauk, NY shadowing his father, an Air Force veteran, avid motorcyclist, flagger at Bridgehampton racetrack in the 1970s, and enthusiast of preserving lost and forgotten automotive treasures. They tirelessly wrenched through long hours of the night and early mornings restoring and preserving classic British and vintage sportscars. Scott's grandfather moved his family out to Montauk in 1961 before the Hamptons were "The Hamptons." We will always love Montauk.

At one point in the driveway were parked: a 1975 BMW 2002, a 1991 Porsche 924s, a 1980 Triumph Spitfire 1500, and in the very long narrow garage were:  a complete MG Midget awaiting its running gear to be swapped into a pristine Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite unibody, and finally, Scott's personal favorite of all of his dad's obscure finds: a 1953 MG TD which had a 289ci small block Ford V8 with a four-speed transmission. They've restored and displayed original and new Mini Coopers together, they've done parking lot autocross together, they've towed together, and enjoyed many wonderful automotive times together.

"Dad, if you're reading this, thank you for everything you do and for what you've inspired me to accomplish. I love you dearly always."

Scott's inspirations span many mechanical genres- Investigative history of racing automobiles, motorcycles, aviation, locomotive, aerospace, maglev, solar and alternative energies, alternative fuel recycling, 3D technology, AI and Web3.0, and building sustainable futures for the next generation, to name a few, but the dedication of Scott's dad to his family and personal improvement remains Scott's greatest inspiration. Scott is building Divergent Garage as a thank you to the years of teaching and support that his father passed down, and Scott hopes to provide equal support to the community that has shown its support to each other on Long Island and beyond. The purpose of Divergent Garage is to help bear the torch for the next generation of automotive and mechanical enthusiasts and provide comprehensive automotive repair services and support to our customers by always treating them with respect as if they were members of our own family.
